The Trane VAL8632 2-ton Thermal Expansion Valve designed for new systems using refrigerant R410A . This valve is 6.5” in length is essentialfor achieving the better system results. It works as a metering device; it regulates the amount of refrigerant depending on the condition of the evaporator coil. The ` clipping’ process of the Trane ensures that the appropriate amount of refrigerant enters the coil is allowed, while checking on underfilling and overfilling. If a coil is underfilled, then it will not cool well while if it is overfilled, it will damage the compressor.
