Description
The Bard HVAC 8402-044 Manual Reset Upper Limit is a temperature safety control set to open the circuit at 180F and remain locked out until it is reset. It is used in packaged heating equipment to interrupt operation when excessive heat buildup is detected within the unit. In HVAC systems it is placed in the heat transfer section where it directly senses rising temperatures from the heat source or airflow stream. Its purpose is to stop system operation during over-temperature conditions and require service intervention before restarting, maintain controlled operation during heating cycles.
