Description
The Tecumseh K90-23 Overload is a motor shield unit used to be installed in HVAC systems and air conditioning compressors to prevent overcurrent draw and overheating. It detects the temperature of motor electrical load and closes its circuit when the conditions are not within the secure operating range to disconnect the power and maintain the compressor. It is mounted in electrical circuit or control compartment of compressor, and is wired in series with the start/run windings of the compressor. In HVAC systems this overload assist ensures accurate operation of compressors by minimizing thermal and electrical impact and resetting the temperatures.
