The Trane BNR0057 is a natural gas pilot assembly consisting of an electrode, a key component of your HVAC system’s gas ignition process. It lights the main gas burner and then tracks the flame to make the system safe and efficient. It is a sensor, the electrode is located near the flame. If the flame goes out for any reason, the electrode won’t sense it and the gas valve will shut down to prevent a gas leak.
