The Lochinvar & A.O. Smith 100210089 Natural Gas Control Valve is used in natural gas heating systems. This particular type of valve controls the amount of natural gas allows to the burner in order to give precise heat output control. The thermostat signal, which defines the required temperature, regulates it. The valve opens to let gas into the burner when the thermostat feels that heat is required. The valve shuts down to reduce the rate of gas once the desired temperature is set at the combustion chamber. This valve is compatible with several Lochinvar and A.O. Smith types and is usually installed in the gas feed line to the boiler.
