Description
The Weil McLain 511-330-186 Natural Gas Standing Pilot Assembly is a continuously burning ignition setup that maintains a small, constant flame used to ignite the main burner whenever the heating controller calls for heat. It consists of a pilot burner, thermocouple, and gas supply tubing that work together to sustain the pilot flame and confirm its presence before allowing the main gas valve to open. Within HVAC systems, this pilot setup is positioned at the burner deck of a natural gas boiler, where the thermocouple generates a millivolt signal that keeps the gas valve open.
