Description
The Lennox 84M96 Loss of Charge Pressure Switch is a protective device which is used on different HVAC products such as air conditioning and heating devices like heat pumps. It serves as protector of the compressor which is the main component of your cooling system. The switch is always monitoring the pressure of the refrigerant inside the system and if the pressure goes below a safe level that is about 55 PSI, the compressor is switched off. This protective mechanism helps refrain the compressor from overheating and consequently possible failure because of low refrigerant levels in the loop.
