Description
The Automation Components Inc. (ACI) 121430 is a 10-kilo ohm thermistor that comes with a 20-foot wire to attach it to a control system and an integrated flange to put it within an 8-inch air duct. A thermistor, a semiconductor device whose electrical resistance changes in response to temperature, is the central part of the ACI 121430. The thermistor’s resistance falls when the surrounding temperature rises, and vice versa. The thermistor may be directly mounted within an air duct thanks to its integrated flange, which enables it to detect the temperature of the air passing through the duct. An electrical signal is produced by the thermistor’s fluctuating resistance and is sent to an HVAC control system via a 20-foot cable.
