Description
The Rheem-Ruud 47-102473-03 is one of the safety devices that are so crucialin the operation of HVAC systems. It is a limit switch with an SPST which is self resetting in nature. This means that it turns on or off an electrical circuit based on certain pre-defined temperature limits. The limit switch has a sensor of temperature variation. At a temperature of 190° F or 88° C it means that the attached circuit is interrupted and the switch changes its position from normally open (N/O). But when the temperature decreases to 170° F (77 °C) the switch turns ON (Normally Closed) to complete the circuit. This on/off device prescribes the level of heat not to overheat the required one and to keep the HVAC system at certain limits.
