Description
The Supco SHL160 Limit Switch L160-40F is a snap-disc temperature control component used in systems to monitor and regulate excessive heat conditions within furnaces, and similar heating appliances. It operates by opening the electrical circuit when the sensed temperature rises and automatically resets after the system cools to restore normal operation in HVAC system applications. It is installed near the heat exchanger or plenum to protect the system from overheating caused by restricted airflow or duct imbalance. Within the furnace control system, it acts as a safety interlock that interrupts burner operation to component and maintain safe operating temperatures during heating cycles.
