Lochinvar & A.O. Smith 100108260 Anode Rod is a vital accessory that is used to increase the durability of water heaters. This aluminum anode rod has a diameter of 0.75 inches and its thread size is 3/4” NPT it works by drawing corrosive substances in water towards it instead of the steel tank which is used in the manufacture of the water heater. This sacrificial mechanism makes it possible for the rod to corrode and not the tank hence reducing the costs of maintenance as well as avoiding leakage.
