Description
The Trane ACT0882 is a fail-safe actuator a part of many Trane HVAC systems. It is an electronic device that controls and converts electrical signals into accurate mechanical motion. This movement is then used to control airflow by either opening or closing without dampers, valves or other air control devices in the system. The fail-safe option makes the actuator close or open to a predetermined position in case of power failure. This prevents the HVAC system from getting into a state that it cannot help the situation like during a power outage when it’s blowing hot air.
